Mobile Loaves & Fishes

LHPR coordinates media relations for Mobile Loaves & Fishes (MLF) at its annual press conferences.

The connection with MLF began in 2021, as the Austin debate about the unhoused raged during election season. LHPR helped the team develop messaging and promote the 1400-home expansion of Community First! Village (CFV). Lauren and her team coordinated pre-press, event press and post-press for the announcement.

Thirteen press outlets attended the announcement and Lauren ultimately secured 25 press pieces. This included the front page of the Austin American-Statesman, segments on all 5 local TV stations, The Texas Standard, KUT, The ABJ, Community Impact & Austonia.com.

LHPR promoted the expansion’s groundbreaking in 2022, MLF’s 25th anniversary in 2023 and Community First! Village’s 10th anniversary and first-ever Love Your Neighbor 5K in 2025.

Lauren is deeply honored to spread the word about Austin’s most talked-about neighborhood.

She and her son volunteered for 5 weeks at CFV in 2024.

 

Power for Parkinson’s

Austinites Nina Mosier and Susan Stahl asked LHPR to help promote Power for Parkinson’s and its FREE roster of exercise classes. Lauren worked alongside them from 2013-2019 and returned in 2025 to help secure additional press for their new programs.

There is no cure for Parkinson’s, so exercise is vital. It relieves symptoms and improves the quality of life for people suffering from the disease.

LHPR secured dozens of earned media placemnts, including KXAN & KVUE segments, a Community Impact Nonprofit Feature, an Austin Fit Magazine article showcasing the nonprofit’s young members and an Austin American-Stateman lifestyle feature.

In 2025, Nina has been featured on several podcasts and participants have detailed how these fitness classes let them continue to pursue hobbies like ping pong (KVUE).

 

Caritas of Austin

When Caritas of Austin needed interim support during their Communications Manager’s maternity leave in 2018, LHPR hit the ground running for this 5-month project.

Caritas needed support shuttering its refugee housing program, promoting its annual Words of Hope dinner event, prepping for the beloved ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot, and launching a new teen homelessness initiative with multiple city partners.

Lauren secured 16 pieces of earned media, including the Austin American-Statesman’s front page, a Statesman lifestyle feature and multiple live feed TV segments at the teen homelessness initiative’s press conference. A favorite memory is the 7am interview with Austin legend John Aielle, may he rest in peace.

 

Operation Blue Santa

Austin’s SuperShuttle hired LHPR to promote their involvement with the Austin Police Department’s Operation Blue Santa toy drive in 2016.

Lauren coordinated pre-event press (like this segment on KXAN) as well as onsite live feeds during the . to promote this exciting nonprofit event to benefit families in Austin who would otherwise not have presents under their tree. Lauren media trained the SuperShuttle team, led efforts to capture their goodwill through photos and videos, and partnered with the onsite event team to coordinate live feed visuals.

SuperShuttle recruited Lauren in 2019 for their rebranding to Carter Transportation.

 

The Hill Country Science Mill

The Hill Country Science Museum hired LHPR to plan and execute a media plan supporting its February 2015 grand opening. Lauren’s family enjoyed multiple outings to Johnson City in an effort to better understand the Science Mill’s offerings and its immense value for Central Texas families.

Ultimately, LHPR secured 32 pieces of local and hyperlocal press in newspapers, on TV and with bloggers, including the San Antonio Express News and the Houston Chronicle.

The Science Mill invited LHPR later in 2015 to promote the opening of a new exhibit. Lauren earned an additional 23 pieces for the expansion.
